REPEAL OBAMACARE
Obamacare was passed in the face of widespread and obvious public protest.
A free people do not ask their government to take care of them, from the cradle to the grave. They take responsibility for their own well-being.
When the politicians promise to give you everything you desire, they are asking you to sell your freedom in exchange for government money. And when you have become totally dependent on them, then you belong to them. You do what the bureaucrats tell you to do, because you no longer have any choice. This is where President Obama's policies are taking us.
Americans can and should take responsibility for their own doctor's bills. If they want to buy health insurance, they can do that, if they choose to do so. The cost of healthcare did not go soaring into the stratosphere before the government got involved in healthcare. More government involvement in healthcare will make the problem worse, not better.
There is no moral obligation to buy health insurance. There should not be any legal obligation to do so.
There is no moral obligation for you to pay anybody else's doctor's bills. The government should not take your money to do so.
Thomas Jefferson said, "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.".
The American ideal is expressed in the Pledge Of Allegiance -- Liberty And Justice For All. This includes both rich and poor. Both black and white. Both men and women. Government does not take from one person or group and give to another person or group.
There is nothing in the U.S. Constitution which even faintly authorizes Congress to take over healthcare, and to order every American to buy something, whether they want it or not. Thus Obamacare is wildly unconstitutional. It is a great loss of liberty. The Founding Fathers would be shocked and appalled.
The real solution to the high cost of healthcare is more liberty, not more government. "Alternative" methods of healthcare should be permitted and encouraged, such as chiropractic, nutrition, vitamins, and herbs. These methods should also be routinely covered by insurance. The requirements for becoming a doctor or for some lower level of health practitioner should be reduced. Doctors as a group have become an exclusive guild, and as a group they are not dedicated to reducing the cost of healthcare. In effect, doctors have a monopoly, and the prices are monopoly prices.
If everybody gets unlimited free healthcare, and the government pays for everything, then the prices will soar to even higher levels, and the government will go broke trying to pay the bills. Individuals need to be rewarded when they take care of their own health, by not having to pay as much for healthcare as those who do not take care of their own health.
