REPEAL THE PATRIOT ACT

Thomas Jefferson said, "I hope ... a bill of rights will be formed to guard the people against the federal government...".

The Founding Fathers felt strongly the need to "guard the people against the federal government"! They had just fought a war to get rid of one oppressive government. They were trying very hard to protect the liberties of the people from the tyranny of the government which they themselves were creating. But now, anyone who thinks the federal government is the problem and not the solution to everything is considered a "radical right-wing extremist".

America has gone so far down the road to socialism that it is actually true that a dedicated principled supporter of liberty and of limited Constitutional government is "radical", is on the "Right", and is "extreme". But we are in very good company -- with George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, and the other Founding Fathers. They would definitely be classified as "terrorists" under the definitions of today. They fought a war against their government, and would certainly be called "enemy combatants" today.

Thomas Jefferson said, "Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law,' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.".

After the destruction of the World Trade Center on 9/11, there was a great wave of war-mongering and fear-mongering. As a result of the war-mongering, based on highly questionable arguments, we invaded the Middle East and caused great destruction and suffering. As a result of the fear-mongering, we passed the so-called "Patriot Act", which drastically reduced the rights given to us in the U.S. Constitution.

Benjamin Franklin said, "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.".

It is very wrong to abandon our freedoms, our Constitutional rights, the liberty that has made America great, and that has made America the light of freedom to the world, with the false idea that we can thereby be safe. What are we trying to be safe from? From tyranny. But if we give up our rights and our freedoms, then we have forged the chains of slavery upon ourselves!

George Washington said, "Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism.".

It is called "The Patriot Act". What a lie! No true patriot, no one who loves the ideal of liberty and justice for all, no one who loves the land of the free and the home of the brave, would ever willingly give up the liberties given to him at great personal sacrifice by his forefathers.

George Washington said, "Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.".

Do we trust the government? Do we love Big Brother? When did the government become trustworthy? The founding fathers did not trust government at all. They went to war against their own government.

The first step in restoring Constitutional rights is to repeal the falsely named "Patriot Act".
